Colonel Jonathan Post’s Biography

Colonel Jonathan Post is from Ramsey, New Jersey. He received his commission from the United States Military Academy in 2002 and served as a Field Artillery officer in the 173rd Airborne Brigade before being selected for Special Forces training in 2006. He earned his Green Beret in 2008 and served in various command and staff positions with 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) from 2008 – 2017. He was then assigned to the Joint Special Operations Command’s Interagency Task Force – National Capital Region, where he served as a liaison to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in New York City, as the Director of Operation Gallant Phoenix, and as the Commanding General’s representative to the Department of State. He commanded 2nd Battalion, 2nd Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) in Fort Bragg, North Carolina from July 2020 – June 2022 and 1st Infantry Battalion, 3rd Security Force Assistance Brigade in Fort Cavazos, Texas from July 2022 – June 2024.

Colonel Post holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from West Point, a Master of Science degree in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the United State Army War College. His awards and badges include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device, Army Achievement Medal, and the Combat Infantryman and Action Badges.


CSM Nathaniel Atkinson’s Biography

Atkinson most recent assignment was the CSM of the 3-364th Brigade Engineer Battalion at JBLM, Washington from May 22 to May 24. His previous assignment was the CSM of 299th BEB at Fort Carson, Colorado from October 19 to March 22.

Atkinson has served as Heavy Equipment Operator, Senior Construction Equipment Operator, Squad Leader, Senior Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Company Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, Battalion Operations Sergeant, Senior Career Advisor and Senior Enlisted Advisor of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers Afghanistan District.

His stateside assignments include: Fort Johnson, Louisiana; Fort Liberty, North Carolina; Fort Leonard Wood; Fort Stewart, Georgia; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska; Fort Knox, Kentucky; Fort Bliss, Texas; Fort Carson, Colorado and JBLM, Washington. He has deployed to Nicaragua, Iraq (3), and Afghanistan (2) for combat and humanitarian operations.

Atkinson’s military education includes NBC (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical) School, Basic Leader Course, Air Assault School, Airborne School, Air Movement Operations Course, Automated Air Load Planner School, Advanced Leader Course, Drill Sergeant School (Commandants List), Combat Life Savers Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Senior Leader Course (Honor Graduate), Master Resilience Course, First Sergeant/Commander Course, Battle Staff Course, the Sergeants Major Academy, Joint Engineer Operations Course, Battalion & BDE PRE-Command Course, and CSM Development Program. Command Sergeant Major Atkinson holds an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College.
